Default powder coating paintball guns?

just wondering why people always annodize the high end guns vs powder coating it? i mean i see tippmanns powder coated but the higher end like $1000 guns are always annoed.
is there any reason its a bad idea to powder coat them?

Anno is a far superior procedure. I do however PC paintball markers all the time. You do need be aware of tolerance issues in areas where it matters.

well i was thinking, what if i left the original anno in the breech, and just powdered the exterior?
would something like that work?

there are a few risks when you powder coat a paintball gun
small things like solenoide holes , air passages etc.
and risking a $1000-$1500 gun its not worth it.

I did powder coat some accesories on my AI and my ego
like eye covers , breech lock ,barrel back piece etc
but not the body or frame.
and besides annodizing is not that expencive , you could get a complete gun 12 pieces anodized for under $100 and fade for under $150

nope
I only coated the surface , I taped the threads and and pluged the holes
so that no powder got inside. remeber I only did the back not the tip
tip has too many holes and the powder will get inside.
