Hummm! Thats an interesting thought! It would depend on the colors and exact effect you were looking for. Here is a senairo I would use.

Effect - Candy Red with ghost flames on a bike fender.
1. Coat entire fender with Sparkle Silver and fully cure. Cool.
2. Mask flame area with vinyl decal.
3. Preheat fender to 300 deg & coat fender with Super Chrome, put in the until flow out remove from oven let cool to around 250 and remove decal. Place back in oven and fully cure.
4. Remove from oven and coat with candy red then fully cure candy red.

The two base coats should only need to slightly contrast each other to get the ghost effect. I have not done this but this is how I would go about attempting it. If you wanted a darker effect a black and charcoal metallic combination could be used with a candy top coat. A black base with candy blue flames then top with a candy red top coat should give a purple ghost flame. I can see this working in many combinations.

GREAT IDEA MOUSIE! YOU REALLY GOT THE GEARS TURNING HERE. Let me know if you are going to attempt this and I wont jump ahead of you on this one, but if your not going to try this you I will give it a shot.

Or, 2 shades of Candy/lollypop red.

Base of chrome, bake fully
Mask, preheat to 200-250
spray light dusting of lolly
Bake for half time, to flow out
Take mask off
spray rest of lolly, full cure

The ghost flames would be a darker shade. But, because it was under cured initially, it should all flow smooth?? I have to try this.

Hey guys thanks for all the input, I`am going to try it this week . Also was thinking about laying down chrome base coat and using a highlight marker on it after cure, then cover it with a transpirant and bake.

Here's how i did this sportbike stunt gas...Not great pic but you can see the flame..

Chrome Base fully bake & cool.
Layed down vinyl flame decal.
preheated to 150-deg
Sprayed complete light coat of Lolly-pop red
Baked till starts to flowout, Take out of oven and remove Decal. Place back in oven to get temp back to 150-200-deg. Remove & finish spaying coat of lolly-pop red .
Bake to full cure ,remove and cool ...and done..

Any vinyl place should be able to cut you some. I have some high temp green masking type with a backing so I can use it in my cutter,

CTX97 - Where did you find this on a roll big enough for a plotter? I have a 25" Refine MH721 that I cut t-shirt vinyl on all the time. I would love to be able to offer do ghost flames and what not with it for powder.

http://www.customfabricate.com/

Sells tape in upwards of 18" rolls. ANd a Ton of other PC supplies, hangers, Plugs etc. They might have high temp tape with a backer that can be run through a plotter
