Just fully cure the base, and it will be fine. When I do candy's, I fuly cure my base, then cool to <200*F, then shoot the candy. I have done Lolly Red, which is PolyUreathane, over Extreme chrome, TGIC with no problems. If just doing a CHrome, and wanting to clear, then I half cure the chrome and then shoot clear. Helps to keep the chrome shiny, but you will not see the difference if you candy clear it.
