Cool new guy more information on powder coating price's

Hi! New to forum, think it is great so far. Could use more info on how to price auto and motorcycle parts. Have been doing some off and on. Not real sure if I am pricing at the going rate for my area, Bronson Michigan. Any info would be great. Also would like info on building a recycling powder booth. Thanks

Wow you left that wide open! What parts do you coat more frequently? Lets start there.

This is the way I have done it so far. I dont give a firm price on anything until I see it. If the customer insists on a price by phone or email then I price it worst case. If the part just needs a light sandblasting then it's in include that in the price. If its very rusty or previosly powder coated then I am going to charge a stripping charge of $50 per hour. For me these are the prices I have used so far.

Valve covers- $10 & up cyl for Alum more for polished letters and clear coating. $7.50 cyl for steel.

Intakes - $65 each SB $80 each BB. Tunel rams and multi piece intakes are more up to $150.

Blocks - I have not done any yet but if I had to price one 4cyl $150-200 6 & 8 cyl $200-250. These will tie your oven up for a longer amount of time to get the block up to temp and a see them as being a masking nightmare.

All these prices are for single color jobs with minimal prep..

I do it simpler
$50 an hour
if a part takes me 2 hours to finish its $100
