Default Candy Colors

Hello all.

Quick question. If using candy colors on polished aluminum (valve covers) is it still necessary to shoot chrome first?

Thanks for any help.

Quick answer #2.

Make sure that you really clean them...I mean really well. Polishing compound can make a serious mess of an otherwise beautiful powder coating job.

I was told by the company that I recently bought some candy orange from that the best base is either actual chrome or highly polished metal.

But...as said already, make sure you clean the part really well to remove any traces of compound.

YUp, really clean. But also remember, the adhesion is not goting to be as good as if it was over a sandblasted profile. If it get's whacked, it can chip easier.
