Default Have some pricing questions.

I was contacted today by two different people that I know, that want me to powder coat a few things for them. No problem, I just don't have a clue what to charge for it.

One item is a rear axle housing in chrome, along with two stabilizer bars.
The axle will be sand blasted by some one that does this for a living. The bars are new.

The other one is kind of puzzling, but am familiar with front suspensions. He says it is the front end of 72 Mopar, but converted to coil overs. He wanted to know if my oven would handle the size. It is roughly measured 4' long x 2' wide x 1' deep. It is supposed to be all new parts. Guess I will need to see this one, but can you give some kind of a ball park with this info? He wanted to know if my oven would handle this size, which it will so that's where I'm at with it.

No parts list I've seen to date has any of this listed.
Any idea's?
Thanks.

I have not done one yet, but a local shop priced a front k-member and a-arms for a 69 Camaro for $300 for a buddy of mine, that's with them doing the blasting. I would not do it any cheaper than that because this shop is known for being rediculously low priced, mainly a production shop, like they do wheels for $30 each.

Rear axle housing, 1 color I charge $105. CHrome needs a clear, I add 50% of the 1 color price for second coats. This applies for candies, adnything that requires 2 coats or more. 50% each coat. Degreasing/Sandblasting is extra. Phosphating is usually included, unless it is a extremely large piece. And I would get the bars sandblasted too. Even if they are new. Alot of machining oils in new metal, and blasting gives the powder exxcelent tooth to hold on to. It like to flake and peel off new, unblasted metal. That's the reason why alot of factory parts peel, like ATV parts, they don't blast them. Oh, I'd probially charge $15 per bar, depending on size.

The front end, best to see it first, but I'd say 175-250, depending on how many tight nooks and crannies there is. Nooks and crannies are harder to shoot. It too should be sandblasted. Any undercarrage/suspension part that is subjected to the elements and road spray needs to be blasted. Phosphated as well is even better.
