Does the Caswell Near Chrome need clear coating?

Yes it needs a clear or candy/transparent top coat.

It can be done after the chrome is fully cured, although it most likely will come out with gray/silver look to it.
If you haven't already, read this Extreme Chrome with Clear Coat How to...

Think I'm going to candy blue the lights. There going on a non-stock VW Bus anyway that will be bright blue bottom and white top.
