sure blasting works well or depending on the piece you can use chemical strippers too.

I have been using glass grit in my cabinet and it takes like 10 min just to blast a small 6X6 inch bracket both sides. Chemical stripping is a pain unless the part is easy to scrape afterwards. Having to strip powdercoating is the worse part when doing powdercoating! LOL

I have learned that when recoating a powdercoated part just etch the old part in the cabinet and coat on top. I have had no problems at all.

Do you have to scrape or steel wool afterwards?

Any more info on the "1012 desolver"? I tried googling it and can't come up with anything. I am looking for a good Liquid paint rempover/stripper I can make a soak/dip tank with. FOr parts Valve cover size and smaller. I don;t know if any of you have tried to remove the factory coating on Polished Edelbrock valvecovers. Inside the fins. It is a REAL pain with jelly type stripper. I need something I can soak Alum/steel parts in for even overnight to dissolve the paint/old powder. Got to be availible in Canada too.

I just got done trying a new way (new for me anyway) of stripping a powdercoated Valve cover. Put in in the oven for 30 min at 500 and there is simply nothing left! If burned away! Any remaining trace blew clean off with the quick pass in the blast cabinet. If you dont have a blast cabinet a quick power wash would have done the trick.

I've heard amazing things about gun cleaner, but nothing on where to get it or how hazardous it is. I wish I had my own blast cabinet. Maybe one day after I get areal compressor lol.
