Default How clean is your air?

I think I might be having dirty air issues. What system is everyone using to filter your air?

I am using a Harbor Freight basic 2 piece water and air filter. And then a Harbor Freight 40 micron air filter/moisture separator.

I don't have a filter on my compressor other than the basic factory one. Should I install a more efficient one. And if so, how?

Getting specks in the PC. Also the PC coat looks globed as if moisture got in the line.

What I have just recently started using is the wix aquastat disposable filters sold by amsoil and I am very impressed with the results considering all the snake oil type hype one usally gets from Amsoil.I was getting outgassing problems and traced it back to blowing my parts with improperly filtered air. I have not had this problem since I've started using this filter.

I'm sure there could be. But I have two box fans with the best hepa filters duct taped to them running 24/7.

Concerning the specks, I'm curious about your spray booth. How do you have it setup? Is it wood, metal and how are you hanging your stuff, from a rack? How is the rack mounted?

The reason for all the questions is that, I have the speck problem also. And I think I figured it out. I have a spray booth that I built. It is a metal booth and my rack is metal. The tracks that the rack sets in is metal. So When I spray, I hook my wire lead to either the rack or to the track. Gets good contact, BUT, I think what my problem with the dust specks is, is that I have made a super large dust magnet. I have basically charged the whole booth, thereby attracting all the dust in the world. My solution, plastic wheels on my rack and only attach to the part.

As for the clumps, I found that I needed to mix my powder real good to get rid of the clumps before putting in the bottle. Don't know what this is worth, but that's my .02.
