Default what parts cleaner solvent

Just purchased a parts cleaner and was wondering what would be the best solvent for parts going to be powdercoated. Will some types be harder to remove due to leeching into the metal, rust inhibiter coating, oily resedue,ETC?Parts will be bead blasted but still would like to use most compatable solvent.Been looking at biodegradable water base, mineral spirits, kerosene.Maybe i'm missing some? Thanks for any help

One solvent i did try was the generic version of simple green called mean green. And mean it is!Maybe i had it to rich at 1 to 1 but this stuff took the paint off parts cleaner and rusted up metal screws and metal hose. This happened in six days!Needless to say, i drained that stuff asap. The biodegradable i'm looking at now is from napa but pricey at seven bucks a gallon. It has a rust inhibitor.Did you notice a rust problem with simple green? What concentration are you useing? Thanks for your input

The magic word here might be generic. I've seen Mean. But I've use Simple over the years and find it very suitable for a lot of different cleaning. It's kind of like buying the store brand of something and they claim it's the same. But usually not totally. Haven't tested Simple in that way, but do like what it does for me.

a little off topic but....mean green isn't generic simple green....my dad is friends with the guy who originally invented it

back on topic...i usually use mean green and/or simple green (in a 10:1 ratio) and follow it up with acetone.
