Default How can I dull my new shiny finish?

Hey guys, tried a search but really couldn't get a straight answer. Basically I got back a few bike parts from powdercoating and they are all a little to shiny for my taste. I requested 20% gloss black and it looks like 40%. So, now I wanna dull them up to look more satin than glossy.

Can some one walk me through a quick round of sand paper grits or the best process of dulling them out but still keeping the "finished" look? I am assuming I would need to wet sand the frame (good time to get the orange peel off in some spots). I am thinking 400 then finishing with 1500 or 2000. BUt I am not sure. Pls Help! TIA

Scuff it up or sand a bit and apply a second coat of a flatter black or a satin/dull clear.

A grey 3M pad will dull the shine. A maroon pad is a little course and will leave scratches as will sanding with grits below 600. The problem is that all these methods will leave the surface with marking or orientation lines. Your best solution is to re-coat as Harleydad suggests. A fast cool-down will also give a dull finish but could be spotty at joints or areas that hold heat longer.

Okay thanks for your inputs, I might go ahead and have them re-sprayed. Some suggested after I hit it up with lets say 2000 grit and then apply rubbing compound that may eliminate the scratches left behind. Have you heard of anything like that?
