SO I'M A LITTLE MORE THAN AN AMATURE Further more in Australia mate i am the first to do this. I will give you credit though on the glow in the dark aspect that is pretty cool but i don't have that here in australia and up until about 2 months ago you couldn't even get powder coat additives here so its only a matter of time. But thats not the best of my work i'm only putting it out there to get a response. |

Hey Dona,
I expect you have a PC. LOL If you want custom graphics and stencils look around for what you can run through a printer and some programs to draw graphics. Myself I use a really OLD program from Windows 3.1 days and happy with it, but maybe better stuff out there. I do T-shirt transfers (not cheap iron-ons, but you can buy those) and Magnet sheets (frig magnets) and did some vinyl stuff also as well as custom sheets I made from Mylar etc.. I also print DVD's I burn with a modded printer and much more. Basically, if it runs through the printers paper feed use it, that's my motto. Also if it don't fit, mod it, that's another motto of mine. LOL What you need to do is find a material that will stand up to the temps, and adhesive usable for the temps, print the design and cut out neatly with a super sharp razor knife for good clean cut, spray adhesive to back or brush on, apply where needed and spray then bake. If really carefull you could spray then peel off design before baking. I have used similar tricks for painting logos and flames etc... even pictures with normal auto paints. The same basics apply to powder coating other the temps for baking. That is, print design, cut out area to be sprayed, attach to part, spray. Sharp crisp clear lines on the template and accurately cutting them out is the key. You can do several prints of the same image and if you cut precisely and lay out correctly do several different colors in various parts in proper registry (lined up). |

Also, depending how many coats deep you want to powdercoat and how many times you want to bake the part, you could use the designs cutouts to make really fancy scenery, a deer standing in a forest or a cowboy riding a horse though a desert sunset.
Imagination is the key and how you spray and bake the parts. Using standard auto paint I have made some fantastic stuff in the old days just using cutouts. Powder coating is somewhat the same though adds extra concerns due to baking and the loose powders. I only did a few parts with a friends system, I had problems here and not bought mine own yet. Yes, I passed up PC systems at HF I could have had for $35 each, on sale $50 with coupon for extra 30% off also. I could not make that trip that weekend or I would have 4 systems today Looking for a nice friendly lady for love and romance with own shop, send photo of shop |
