Default Hello guys , I have some questions for a newbie

Hello guys ,
I'd like to start my own little business with small amount...I'd apperciated if u guys help me out which powder coating should I get for good qaulity price probaby around 200 plus some powder too.

What kind of paint remove do you get em off , sand blasting ?


I'm looking around 500-600 to spend if that is possible and thanks for ur time to read this.....Im gunna wait for your input.

many ppl say that the caswell hobby gun works quite well, especially if you are just starting.

sand blasting is probably the most common method to clean the parts, along w/ several other steps (wiping the part w/ a cleaner, out-gassing, etc). depending on the size of parts you are going to do, a blast cabinet may be sufficient.

the oven could be a big expense if you are going to do large parts. if only small parts, find a cheap (free) used kitchen oven.

another large expense is an air compressor. if you are going to blast, you will need some air.

Yeah, it seems like about 90 percent of the powdercoating process is cleaning the part. I think if I was starting out I'd look for a used blasting cabinet and a compressor big enough to run it. You can do a good job with a hobby gun, and old kitchen ovens can be found cheap, but it's hard to prep parts without being able to blast them, so that's where I'd put most of my resources.
