Default Newbie here, got a question about clearing an engine block/heads..

....first great site and lots of good guys with great advice....I personally dont think I will actually do any PC, but I am building my 2nd tbucket and this time around I aint painting the frame, will go PC .... but my questions is this; this time around I building a 514 Caddy engine and am smoothing the block and heads before going to the machine shop.....I look at this and think, I wonder if clear PC will;

1) Look right and not yellow like I have heard
2) Last and not create a nightmare down the road...you can imagine what it would take to correct a problem once its built and has some run time on it

Anyone ever done and engine block with either clear or with the xtreme chrome I read about and have some pics of them? Ive seen some intakes on here that were "chromed" but all were sand cast and not smoothed, seen a lot of PC colored intakes, but wanted to see what clear looks like over smoothed cast.

Here is a pic of the Caddy block in progress now

Thanks in advance guys

ALSO, anyone recommend a GOOD QUALITY PC shop in the Dallas/Ft worth area...Ft Worth side preferably but will travel for quality.

Adam

Can't answer any of your questions but hey that block looks great!

Got any good links for T-bucket parts? I may begin my build on a custom T-bucket soon. I also want the frame PC but mine will be far larger than normal and I plan to do it myself. Still a bit of a newbie up here in MO, about 500 miles from ya.

What I may still need is a T-bucket body to cut up, so a cheap one, windshield stuff, misc.. parts.

If the build goes well mine will be a stretch Ford T-bucket with twin I-beam front axles.

The best place I could steer you to is the NTBA, its a national club for just tbuckets and when I built my first T, it was a huge help.....here are some of the common links for Tbuckets....there is a shop, Hot Rod Alley a couple of blocks from me, Frank Hogan is the owner, he can answer almost any question you have as well as stocks a lot of parts..his number is 817.268.3717, tell him Adam sent you....here are those links, but check out the NTBA, great source for info and help

If you decide to go over and post on theNTBA forum, tell em tbucket101 sent you
