Ya, my l;uck with Lab Metal isn't good either. I have been in contact with the manufacturer and they say that no oven time before acctual baking. Even after cured for 24 hrs. Basically, spread, wait 24 hrs, sand and spread more. I just redid a Lab metal project with JB weld. And It takes about the same time to cure, 15 hrs for full cure. But it's working time is alot longer than Lab Metal. Meaning, you have more time to get it smooth so you have to sand less. JB weld is also tougher to sand than Lab Metal. So, smooth it out nicely before it cures=less work after

JB has been my friend for years.
if you are in a hurry you can dry JB weld in the oven I do for 10-15 mins at powder cure temp. don't make it thicker than 1/8 or it will crack. |

I brought lab metal and i was hopeing to use it as a filler similar to builders bog, but the $hit is watery as and it takes to long to build up thickness. I'm trying to find something that i can used to fill large dents and the likes. And i don't wanna have to wait two days before i can coat over it. In another forum some body mentioned a two part epoxy filler that can go up to 750 degrees. any body know what it is

Tiger Drylac has an epoxy repair kit. I've never used it, but it may be more workable than lab Metal. Can only be applied up to 2 mm thickness.
