I have been doing alot of research on Curing Lamps
and trying to solve some of the problems people are complaining about. For people who only do projects for themselves like motorcycle frames, bike frames ect. I think they would be the best choice. Why buy an large oven, only to take up valuable space in your garage to be used a few times. What other choice is there?.I not talking about guys who make money powder coating. Ofcourse it would be in there best interest to buy a oven. What features would make the Ir lamp more user friendly? Faster cure time(under 15-20 min)yes I realize there are many factors. The high end lamps havemore heads and higher output. Timer Consistant Lamp Placement(distance from part) Constant Temp feedback Less operator monitoring(babysiting) Consistant Cure results Keeping the Part in the Goldie Locks Zone(not too hot & not too Cold) These are some of the problems I'm trying to solve Last edited by fred_soanes; 08-16-2007 at 07:51 AM. Holding heat to the part might help also. Ya, IR heats the part not the air, but you still have 95F air in the room trying to cool a 250F part while your trying to get it up to 400F or so and hold it up there.
