Default Powder coating kit advice needed

Hello all, i have done numerous searches and i am at the stage where i need advice on what is the ideal Kit for me to start powder coating. As i am just starting out i do not want to buy a 'Cheaper' kit as on advice from you guys at some stage in the future i will only replace with a better kit.i have looked at this kit on Casswell-Europe, as i am in the UK this may work out better for me to order instead of further over seas.[IMG][/IMG]
this will be the start of many questions asked no doubt as i will want to paint everything in sight to get the practice
many thanks once again.

I have the Caswell 50kv gun and am happy with it. It takes a bit to get the hang of it, but once you do, it works pretty for a cheaper gun.

I set the main air pressure at around 10 pounds, then adjust the air mix screw on the bottom of the handle until I get the flow/cloud that I want. I just have the powder kind of billowing out and not blowing. There is another screw on the bottom of the barrel that I turn in all the way, then just back out until I get a good mix there as well. And I don't have a lot of powder waste, which makes me happy.

Like I said, it took some time, but I got it where I want it. And it does a good job for me. I to, will upgrade to a better gun, as things progress. But for now, I do okay with what I have.

Almost forgot, DON"T fill your cup full. No more then half and more often I fill less then half. Also, shake the krap out of the powder before you put it in your cup. Makes it flow better.

Either Caswell gun will probably do you fine for starting out. I have one similar to the lower cost unit. I've heard the adustable voltage of the more expensive Caswell gun is handy for some things.

My lower cost type gun is doing me fine so far, but I am not doing much fancy stuff yet.
So far I am only doing one coat items, soon I plan to try 2 coats for letting stuff and illusion powders also.

I have not shown any parts around here, I already got a job for wiper blades, and calls for other parts, not even mentioned much to anyone about coating. Just one guy really, and I already have work coming in from him and his friends and their friends!

So, soon my cheap gun will have paid for a better gun if I decide to get one later.

Get the best you can afford if you plan to be coating allot, but at least get something to get started with.

the non-adjustable caswell gun will give you good results. i haven't experienced the hot coat/harbor freight, etc. guns, so i can't speak for them. if the caswell is a bit more, spend the extra bc they'll back you with whatever support you need (gun-related, powder-related, etc.) at any rate, the non-adjustable caswell gun is a great value. it'll pay for itself in 3 or 4 smallish jobs.

Hello Guys,
thanks very much for all your help, i have just got back form my holidays and things are really looking up, the wife has agreed to part with MY cash for a powder gun kit and after a long time i am able to find a decent oven to start practicing with.As it happens my friend has just stripped his motorbike and asked if i could spray his smaller parts, yippee! he wants the clutch lever etc in white, is this an easy colur to first practice with? before i forget JWT where would you advice in the UK to purchase my Powder? its been a Pain sourcing here in Norfolk, known me i am proberly not looking hard enough.i will be off to pick the oven up in a couple of days, so no doubt i will have more questions, one would proberbly be temperature checking etc.
once again many thanks for all your advice.
