Default Rust inside valve cover, What to do?

I am stripping a car to haul in for scrap iron, of course I am keeping some parts to Powder coat and use or sell.

I pulled the valve covers from this junker engine, 1984 3.8 Ford V6 and found rust inside the covers (even the rocker arms have some rust). Mostly just surface rust spots nothing to bad. This is also a cover with a spot welded baffle inside I think, I did not see any way to remove it yet.

For now the grease is soaking off the covers over night in simple green. I was going to try a stripper on the paint outside the cover and leave the inside as factory untill I found the rust and other plain steel with no coating inside.

What would you guys do with these? They're nothing special really, I was doing them more for practice than anything, but if they turn out nice enough I may put them on my 87 Cougar with same engine, so I want to do them right.

Clean the insides the best you can, scrub with wire brush to remove the main scale and coat them. Have run some pretty bad looking valve covers in my day, no worries

Depends how much you want the valve covers I guess.

I'd sandblast them if worth the effort, or toss them...

Thanks.

I wasn't sure what others would do. I'll blast them out when I get my cabinet done then.
