Default Harley Evo Rocker Covers

I have done a couple of sets of Harley three peice rocker covers with all three covers together as if they were on the heads.I was wondering what method most were using.(assembled or disassembled) Does it matter if inside the heads are powdercoated? In the past I have only done textured or wrinkled and I've been fixing small defects with a small paint brush and matching paint when gaskets are installed. I now have to do a set in super wet black with a clear coat so touch-ups will be very difficult or impossible. Any info or helpful tricks would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I wouldn't do the insides. If you know ahead of time (like u do) that you can't touch-up defects then make sure there are none! prep well my friend.

OK,so I went ahead and did them seperately.I taped them all off and used aluminum foil to cover completely. This with blasting and cleaning took nearly two hours to do. I also had to sand down all the sharp edges on the covers. They came out nicer then when I did them assembled in a gig.Sorry I don't have a picture as my buddy already has the rocker covers. With the total amount of time involved I now know why pros charge so much to do these and why Harley only varnishes the rocker covers on their dynas.

there are guys that can paint your car with evrething on (moldings , lights ,door handles etc,) then there are the more expensive ones that do the real job
and i think it is worth the extra $$, personally i try to do a complete job and my customers are willing to pay the extra $ for a well detailed job
