I'm getting ready coat a couple bare blocks and my main question is this... can I shoot the block then put it in the oven while it's cold and just heat the oven up with the block in it then wait 30 minutes or so once the oven reaches temp? Cause the way my oven is set up it would be very hard to get a block in there when the oven is up to temp without loosing all the heat or getting burned.
Also, what do you guys use to mask off big items like a block?? I was thinking I was just going to use aluminum foil to tape off the lifter, head, and oil pan areas. |

I do it cold all the time , but remember it takes a long time to reach temp (about 1 hour or more), remember you have to start cure time once the block has reach the temp not the oven ,so don't worry about opening the door it's the only way you will be able to messure the temp.
I use alluminum foil and green tape to mask . |
