Cause they charge it, and people buy it. Seriously, what makes nordson surecoat worth $7k ?? A Eurotec $5500 ?? Most things are priced to what the market will bear, and when you add "pro" to the name, or Industrial, the price Jumps considerably. It does help to weed out the fly by nighters, with the expensive startup costs, but you wont be seeing me buy a $700 EW gun nor a Nordson LOL.

Ya, pro, industrial, high tech, Micro Soft, etc.. you pay for the name not the quality quite often.
Look at M$ Vista, M$ is even backing off selling it and extending the life of XP now :O
Glad I still use W2K LOL

Ya, I want to try the Caswell variable volt gun sometime soon if I can.

But is it better than the Caswell gun? I am not far from purchasing this gun and would love to know. I cant handle the caswell gun, clumpy powder distribution, cup bases seperating from the gun, non-detachable cables make cleaning the gun a bitch.

The EW gun will be pretty much the same. Inconsistent powder delivery is just the nature of cup guns. If the powder is clumping out of the caswell gun, you most likely have to much powder in the cup.
