I am interested in powder coating one of my products, however the coating itself must be electrically conductive.
The attached image is "the product"- It attaches to a Forest Service radio battery pack. The holes are for 2 lugs on the pack- They're the negative terminals, effectively making the whole adapter ground. Stick your cigarette lighter adapter down the hole in the round thing so the nipple touches the + contact & run whatever you want. I've been (spray) painting them thus far, but I'm looking to upgrade to some coating that looks better & isn't quite so tedious to apply. Having searched the forum, it appears that all powder coatings are insulators, however I can't imagine this problem hasn't occurred before. Thus is there a conductive powder coat, preferably black? if not, can anyone suggest some other coating that may work? If it matters, the base metals are copper & steel. Thanks- |
