Powder over anodize
Bought a fuel rail that came clear anodized. Thinking of doing it a "anodized red" powder color. Can I just clean and shoot right over the clear anodize?

yes u can. anodizing is actually a recommended pre-treatment by some of the big powder manufacturers. I do it all the time. just did a bunch of parts today that had clear anodizing.

how should i prep the anodized surface? Some isopropyl alcohol and have at it?

yeah, i like shooting anodized parts. i shot some this morning, actually. wipe them with acetone or alcohol and you're good to go!

it depends on how the AL looked before the anodizing. if the part was polished before the anodizing it will look good. if the part was cast, brushed & then anodized then no it won't look so good.
