Shouldn't be any problems. Be sure you clean really, really well. All the polishing compounds need to be removed.

Only downside to that is that the metal substrate is not etched, which makes the finished coating not quite as durable, but I have done it and lots of people do it.

no the polished surface will give you all the shine you need . but like harleydad said make sure all buffing compound is gone , part must be really clean
i clean with acetone with good results , and i do a lot of candy over polishing

I shoot over polished/chrome alot. Its not as durable as over blasted, as long as you tell the customer that. Overtightening bolts and impacts will chip powder easier than over a roughened texture

FigureLLC will become famous soon enough
Default Re: candy colors

all good info above. one more note on candies: they're more sensitive to thickness, temperature, and bake time. if you apply it too heavily and bake too hot, they will run. if they run bad, you will get drip formations on the bottom edges, if they run a little the coating will be noticibly heavier at the bottom edges giving a darker color. i'm still learning candies. so far every time i'm getting better. i'd recommend some test panels first.
