Default degreasing PC'ed engine parts

hey i went and used brakekleen on a nice pretty powdercoated atv engine sidecover and it started melting the clearcloat........

im recoating but what do i do next time i want to clean it?

its aluminum so i suppose water would be ok but id like a degreaser.

windex or maybe simple green?

i've seen acetone melt the super wet black. and i know that MEK rub tests are used for cure testing. are other solvents used for determining full cure? is the MEK test only used for certain types of powders?
