Default powder base, wet paint detail, clear powder

i'm shooting a bicycle frame and i would like to shoot a powder base coat, mask and wet paint some lettering/detailing, and then powder coat it. i know it's possible (see video below), i'm just not sure what paint to use, or if any automotive paint will work.

check out the first video here: http://www.spectrumpowderworks.com/spwmovies.php

they offer this info, too. sounds like they guard this secret.

"Myth - You can't put detail finishes under a powder clear coat.

Fact - We have figured out a process to allow detail to be put on between base coat and clear coat. You cannot use normal paint(containing binders and flow agents), then apply a powder clear. The temperature will cause normal paints to change color and crack...etc. We use special pigments in a carrier that allows us to use an air brush, but with no binding agents. The result is something that is very fragile and easy to pull up. When a powder clear coat is applied, the base and clear cross link thru the pigments to make a single finish. It really looks cool to have airbrushed graphics and no edge, just a seamless show quality finish."

The urethane base auto paints can generally handle up to about 300 degrees because of the binders but the waterborne paints can go much higher. They should be able to handle the temps of a urethane powder coat. (They use the same solids.) If I were to try this, I'd look into the water based auto paints. Standox and Dupont are big into the waterborne paints. Europe has been using it for years.

I want to see that. I wouldn't mind being able to airbrush from time to time. So what type of wet paint can be used for that?
