Default Black Powder For Mc Frame

Good day, I have an older triumph bonneville frame to do. Does anybody have any suggestions which colour to choose other than caswells which are to glossy and not scratch resistant enough. My customer is not to picky but would like a gloss of about 70 or 80%. I would like a black without a clear if possible to keep the thickness down to a minimum as I will be using a powder primer.
Thanks, powdersparky.

You can use gloss killer to reduce gloss to the required amount....and how are our powders not scratch resistant enough This is a ridiculous statement. We purchase our powders from major powder coating manufacturers, and they are standard formulations (TGIC, Urethane, Polyester etc). If you're not getting a scratch resistant coating, you're under curing. It's NOT the powder.

i'll second that. we can beat our super wet black with a hammer.

try the "black cat urethane." i LOVE this powder. shoots nice and it's a quality low-sheen finish. there are some decent pics of it in the gallery.

Not sure how many blacks Caswell offers but, Tiger Drylac has an OGF black that is in the 70 degree gloss range. You could also try DuPont, they offer quite a few blacks.

I use the TD OGF Black for this gloss range also.

If you, or your customer, are looking for originality you should consider a semi-gloss.

Thanks asallwey, customer picked an 80% OGF gloss.I am glad he picked an outgas forgiving powder as the frame was full of oil and even after 45 minutes in the oven at 425 the frame still had oil coming out of everywhere.
Here are a couple of pictures.

The front end will be super wet black with a gloss killer.
