Im not to sure what exactly is it that I need but I was told I need a moisture trap or filter. I was wondering what you pros have and wher can I get this sort of stuff. A website would be helpful and also which to buy. Thanks

you can get them anywhere. @ any hardware store or just about anywhere on line. now how you set up your air feed & what material you use will greatly influence their effectiveness. TPTools has some good info if you are unsure or have any questions.

we use a 10cfm -45F dewpoint desiccant filter from mcmaster. it was about $100. preceding that in the line is a coalescing filter, proceding there is a regulator with a small coalescing filter to catch tiny silica particles from the desiccant. mcmaster is expensive, but you get good stuff. i use some harbor freight items with good luck, but i haven't experienced good things with their compressed air products.

number 1 thing you need to do is drain your compressor tank regularly. i installed an "auto drain" from harbor freight that was like $12. works like a charm. you plumb a pilot into the blow off valve line, and every time the compressor cycles on or off the pressure difference opens the drain valve for a split second to blow out the water (twice per cycle).

The second one would be the one you want. Its rated up to 145 psi, which is a more normal operating range for most compressors.

i'm pretty sure they're both the same. hf seems to be sloppy about having two or three different part numbers for the same things. jet tools does that, too, i forget why the rep said. anyway, the plastic tube is rated for 145, but i didn't try it. i used copper. this article i found helpful: http://www.paragoncode.com/shop/compressor/

These are the 2 filters I use on my system along with an inline desiccant filter.
