Default Best Single Stage Chrome for Intake Manifold

Had a customer stop in my shop yesterday and wants to PC his High Rise (maybe 8" rise) Dual Carb aluminum manifold in a Single Stage Chrome. He will be running alcohol/methanal and asked if the PC would stand up to it. I don't see a problem? If you guys have any input, that would be great. I do know to OUTGAS for about an hour, but what temp. Do I need to use an OUT GAS forgiving silver/chrome powder for an aluminum intake? Who makes the best reflective Single Stage Chrome? OH and HOW much is a fair price to do the job? $75 bucks + the powder/shipping?...I have to order it. Will 2 lbs do the job? Sorry for all the Newbie stupedough questions.

I've heard single stage chrome is a myth and or a marketing ploy.. Using an off-gas additive would be a good idea but keep in mind it will knock the gloss down a tiny bit.
    IMHO

I have also heard single stage chrome is a myth and or a marketing ploy. Test it first before you give it to a customer.

I was wondering the same thing.

I get mine from Columbia Coatings. I have noticed more places are starting to carry it.

It's been discussed here before.. unless it's something totally new and improved the SS chrome is the same as the two stage.
I'm sure it will oxidize and scratch reveling a gray base just as the two stage.

Maybe Mike or Lance will chime in?

I asked the question of one of the suppliers and was told that the Single Stage Chrome comes with the clear blended in it. I have used it as well as the two stage. It works well, but I also know that some of the two stage looks as good or better. SS Chrome is just quick and easy and exceptable.

The one thing I learned about PC'ing an Intake is that the customer needs to block the the passage on the head that heats up the the intakes choke. It won't last 20 miles of driving.
Who says you can't teach an ole dog new tricks?
