Default Powder Coating Pickup Frame

Can anyone give some advice on having a '78 C10 pickup frame PC'd in the Dallas area? I'm sure this would have to be done at a PC shop as it's most likely too large for a hobbyist. Any suggestions? Any idea on approximate cost either with sandblasting already done or if shop provides? Nothing fancy with the color just a typical black finish. Also, I was watching one of the speed channel programs that showed a frame being PC'd with primer first then PC'd black. Is that the way it should be done? I want a quality job that will provide good durability for a daily driver but I am not trying to build to show standards. Any help greatly appreciated.

some shops provide blasting some don't. expect to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $400-$600 depending on the shop. It's fairly humid in the Dallas area if i'm not mistaken & I would recommend a primer coat. Primers will provide durability among other things.

Thanks for the quick reply Nuttyman. That sounds like a reasonable price range now I just need to locate a shop in the area. I'm hoping someone on the forum has some recommendations for a Dallas area shop.

Already blasted, decently, with no rust and all the sand cleaned out of the rails. It still needs to be outgassed to burn off any junk. Single stage about $350, with the primer about $450.
As you know, location plays a role in pricing.

I have done some more internet searching and found some shops in the area that are set up to do this. I would prefer to use someone from this forum since they provide such a wealth of information and assistance. Also. so much of the work that is displayed is awsome. Harleydad, can you explain why location affects pricing, I would be delivering the frame? Thanks.

Because of the cost of living. Same reasons a 1500 sq ft house in CA is 750k and in the midwest the same house is 150k.
