couple quick questions before i order my stuff.

Well i'm ordering my first powdercoat setup.
What is the difference between the caswell gun and the hot coat gun?
How much powder would i need to do a atv frame, subframe..
Can you tell me what color yellow is on these a arms?

and what blue is this on the frame?

I don't know about the hot coat gun. but all I been useing is the Caswell gun for ever.

I think for the frame you should'nt use more then 1lb but if this is your first time powder coating you could get a little bit more just in case you do something wrong.

The A arms look just like Caswells plan Yellow.

The Blue looks like Candy Blue. You will want to get the Chrome powder to use as a base coat for the Candy Blue powder.

im VERY VERY new to this, so my question is, how do you know if you have to put a certain base under the color? or if you have to put a clear on top. I do know that for candy colors you need to put chrome under it.

It should say on the can of powder what needs a clear coat on it and what kind of base coat you should go with.

also, do you need to wear any type of resperator or goggles while doing this? i will have a exhaust fan in the booth.

Nope.
I use a resperator only if im haveing to work in the same room with the oven just so I don't have to smell it. it gives me a bad headache if I have to smell the fumes while working in there.

well the oven and the booth are both going to be in the garage. will the fumes travel into my house? I guess im going to need to get a good exhaust fan? any suggestions?

It mite go in there if you garage is att to your house.
I would get an exhaust fan of some kind.
My set up is in a little building and I just leave the door open in that room to let the fumes go out side. it's gets cold being winter time but I work better in the cold.
