Default Colour issue

Hey guys,

I got a sample swatch from NIC powder that matched up pretty good with the paint that is on the customers bike, When I shot the powder I cannot get it near as dark as the sample or as the user wants.
Any idea what I could be doing wrong that is causing the powder to be too light? Or how to get it darker?

Thx Mike

Apply thicker? NIC will let you know if there is a base coat color required, but maybe call them? What is substrate? If its shiny, light colored metal, then it very well can cause lightening of powder if the swatch was sprayed on a dark substrate. But I know alot of powders will darken if applied thicker.
