Reason I ask is because the Zinc Primer Epoxy is listed in their website as a Indoor Use Epoxies and I need a primer for some scooter rims im planning to do. I read about the different Primers that tiger has and was a little concerned about the 3 types they have.
1301 Series 69 - 69/90350 Zinc Rich Primer for steel 1302 Series 69 - 60/70000 Dry Protector Primer steel/aluminum 1303 Series 09 - 09/73841 Zinc Free OGF Primer steel/aluminum What are the differences on these and is Caswells fin for motorcycle rims? Or at this point is primer really necessary? |

It's rated for indoor use because it's not UV resistant - but you're going to put another powder over it, right....so it's rating doesn't matter.

why would you use zinc primer for aluminum ?
I only use it for steel aluminum only needs to be outgass and very clean that's just me maybe some one else has another point of view. |

Don't use a zinc primer on aluminum. I use a zinc rich primer on steel, and a different epoxy based primer on aluminum when required. Usually use the primer on aluminum for marine parts.

Well I thought I needed primer because I live in a coastal area. But also what really seems odd to me is that when I was stripping the rims the rear one the paint came off very easy, but the front is like SUPERMAN powder it wont come off unless I sand, wire brush everything you can imagine, its really giving me a hard time. What I noticed on the front rim is that is has some kind of base coat and I think it is primer, its almost white/grayish in color, so that also lead me to think I need primer. What the hell is it?
