Default Is Caswell Zinc Primer Epoxy good for rim applications?

Reason I ask is because the Zinc Primer Epoxy is listed in their website as a Indoor Use Epoxies and I need a primer for some scooter rims im planning to do. I read about the different Primers that tiger has and was a little concerned about the 3 types they have.

1301 Series 69 - 69/90350 Zinc Rich Primer for steel

1302 Series 69 - 60/70000 Dry Protector Primer steel/aluminum

1303 Series 09 - 09/73841 Zinc Free OGF Primer steel/aluminum

What are the differences on these and is Caswells fin for motorcycle rims?

Or at this point is primer really necessary?

It's rated for indoor use because it's not UV resistant - but you're going to put another powder over it, right....so it's rating doesn't matter.

why would you use zinc primer for aluminum ?
I only use it for steel
aluminum only needs to be outgass and very clean
that's just me
maybe some one else has another point of view.

I use the dry protector primer for everything that needs one, unless the customer asks for or wants the zinc rich. Go to tigers site and read the data sheets.
Unless whatever you're coating is going to see road salt or lives in a coastal environment, I'd skip the primer.

Don't use a zinc primer on aluminum. I use a zinc rich primer on steel, and a different epoxy based primer on aluminum when required. Usually use the primer on aluminum for marine parts.

Well I thought I needed primer because I live in a coastal area. But also what really seems odd to me is that when I was stripping the rims the rear one the paint came off very easy, but the front is like SUPERMAN powder it wont come off unless I sand, wire brush everything you can imagine, its really giving me a hard time. What I noticed on the front rim is that is has some kind of base coat and I think it is primer, its almost white/grayish in color, so that also lead me to think I need primer. What the hell is it?

Try sandblasting it. I did wheels and
found the same thing. But sandblasting
took it down to the bare metal.
