Yep That's the Caswell mod. Just did one of the mods so far. made a big diff in the way it sprayed. Follow the link for a short video after the mod, spraying. The cloud is the part that was improved on. The drilled holes is to only mad I made so far. Wanted to see how that effected it before I do any others.

Yea, I've wanted to do at least that one. Haven't done the others yet and may not? But after seeing this question and seeing questions about the powder flow and to much powder, I would try the video and see if that would help with some of the big ? marks hanging over heads. It also works better if the air is set right to begin with.

Hope to upgrade to a better gun down the road. But this seems to do quit well with the mods. And I'm not an official business, yet.

I have a Harbor Freight gun. I'm sure that the extra hole mod will work the same, but the "charge piece" looks a bit different. Also, I can't seem to get it out

Has anyone here done any of these mods to a Harbor Freight gun?

Thanks, John

I have done all of the "Caswell" gun mods to my HF guns with great results. The charge difusser lightly presses into the barrel and can be removed and modified with a pair of needle nose pliers. I have made it a habit to remove it each time I clean the gun to make sure every bit of powder can be cleaned out.

One additional note, I highly recommend using a nice regulator with pressure gauge at the gun than can be adjusted and locked down. This works WAY better than the air valve at the bottom of the gun handle. With that being said, make absolutely sure you have the air valve WFO so it becomes essentially inert in the air regulation equation. I fought a problem with air delivery for two days before I realized how stoooopid I was for not paying attention to the air valve Now I lock it open with epoxy to make absolutely sure it doesn't get closed. Did that make any sense?
