Thanks , That's some good info. I was hoping someone here had done it. From what I have read on it, they use infrared lamps and low temp powder but I was wondering if I could use the oven I'm building. What temp? where to buy powder?

I work with MDF sometimes, and because there's no sap or anything it doesn't bleed. I haven't coated it, but sometimes I use it as a guide to bend ABS plastic with a prop. torch. It is pretty heat tolerable. I would think that you could heat, then spray with a low temp powder, then cure. Try a small piece- experimenting is fun!!
