Default Need some help with Sandblasting From A-Z

Ok so I finally found a guy willing to lend me his sandblasting machine. Problem is that he has had it there for over a year without using it. Its a snap-on cabinet and he has a huge ass compressor.
Now my questions are that I didnt notice a separate container where the media goes, what it has is a bag on top of the blasting cabinet where he said the media goes, is he right?
Also I was looking into getting a gun or different nozzles, any advice on which would be a good gun to buy. Also I see the machine is need of new gloves.
Ok so as far as that cabinet that holds the media I read that there are 2 types, I really didnt understand how this works. If anybody can provide me some info on what to buy it would be a huge help.

One last question, the best media to blast say for example aluminum wheels ( I think cast aluminum) is AO?

First, I never heard of a top mount for media.
I just checked on snap-on web page and nothing
came up under sandblasters. I have a siphon unit.
There are also sandblasters that use a foor pedal.
I boughr a gun off e-bay and it works fine. Also got
gloves from e-bay. If you are doing small parts,
Tractor Supply sells Clarke sandblasters at a decent
price. Hope this helps.

Ok so im a little confused. I figured out what the bags on top of the blasting cabinets are, they are attached to some motors on top of cabinet its self where I found some used media, I think this is where it collects dust. Right?

Now my other question is that he told me he places the media directly in the cabinet. The lower part of the cabinet is v shaped, it ends in a cone shape. Is this where the media goes or do I have to buy that separate container where the media goes?

He has something like this except it only has 2 engines on top and not 3

He puts the media in it, in the blaster its self. Is this right?

Or
do I need one of these

or these

as you see im confused as hell.

I have a pot blaster and I have a cabinet. I would much rather use the cabinet. Much cleaner and not media all over the place. Also with good filters the cabinet is healthier. HF has one on sale right now for $179.00, I think. Not to bad a price. Just don't have a filtering system. I've use my shop vac with paper bags inside made for that, to keep from ruining my motor in the vac.

I just ordered the filter that they offered @ 49.99. I'll see how that works and report on that after I test it.

I finally figured it out. I was confusing a portable blaster with a cabinet blaster. I was thinking that the portable blaster was connected to the cabinet , yeah pretty stupid.
But anyways I finally got to sandblast and its a blast

Not stupid by no means! That's what I use everyday. My pot blaster is hooked up to my cabinet. It's better known as a PA Blaster. Great setup and works better then any setup I've had in the past.

Follow this link for info on that setup. www.pablaster.com
