Exclamation Two Coat Process

Hey whats up everyone! I am pretty new at the coating industry but I am just asking all the stupid questions to learn so please HELP!

I was just wondering how the whole two coat process works? If I wanted to do something two colors would I just coat the part one color, bake it and let it cool then tape it off and coat it another color? I have found that applying a second coat is hard when the part is not hot. If I let the part cool and try to spray the second color the powder doesnt seem to want to stick to it and if it does it is not and even coat. I usually just prebake the part and spray it while it is still warm but I get worried because it will start to flow and I dont know if the coat is even.

Any suggestions or even if you have time by telling me your process It would help out soooo much! Thanks!

The best thing I can tell you, is to make sure you have a good ground, doing the second coat. You may havve to clean a place off, that won't be seen so you can get that ground. I have done four coats. So it can be done. Keep a good ground.

Cool thank you for the info, I just did that on a part and it worked just perfect, I also bent the hook so it covered more surface area instead of just the tip and grounded directly on the hook instead of the pole I was hanging it from, and I think that worked great!
