Default Powder over Chrome

Hello
I am new to this whole powder coating thing and was wonder if I need to glass blast chrome before I coat it,or just coat right over the chrome?
Also what is tha best method for removing pwodercoat from a part,I done a valve cover then the gun quit and I thought that it was thik enough all over but when it was backed it was thin in a few places,so I tried to remover it with the blast cabinet(glass bead),no luck then ordered some Dekote from eastwood and have put several coats on it it lifted some but not all.
I am darn sure that this stuff is ment to be on forever.
Thanks DEL

if youa re doing a candy color over chrome you just clean and coat
if you are doing a solid color like black you have blast or sand the surface so that the powder has something to grab on to.
to remove powder I use aircraft paint remover.

Put your chromed parts in the oven first and run them at around 450 for 15 - 20 min. to see if the chrome will stay put during curring. If it holds up, just spray it and cure. Also, get rid of the glass bead for powder coating. It will cause you nothing but sorrow.

Thanks, but as far as getting rid of the glass bead what is better or what do you recomend for a blast media in the cabinet to clean the parts,I thought that glass was better for doing ALUM parts,I was told and also read somewhere that you should not use sand.Any help would be welcomed.

Silica is definitely out. Glass bead will embed itself in aluminum and out gas bad. I use Coal Slag ( Black Magic or Black Magnum) in my cabinet. Some others use Aluminum Carbide. It's more expensive then slag, but also works well. Can't remember what grit I use, but it works well.
