I have used Liquiguard on steel and had great results. Havn't tried on alum yet. I have just got a gallon of AL here and am about to do a snowmobile chassis. I was going to use it, but now I'm not to sure??

Have you tried MEK (methal Ethal Ketone) or denatured alcohol as your cleaning agent? I quit wiping items down and use a bottle and spray it on with the bottle set to spray not stream. I hope this helps

I would use a thermometer and check the temp range the oven has to hold set temp. I used a wall oven and found I had almost 50deg. between off and on cycle, I rewired it with a pid and ssr, it now holds to about 1 or 2 degs. Works great.

Sanded the piece down to smooth, cleaned twice with acetone and then applied a mist of LiquiguardPC (from Caswell for aluminum) applied the powder not too thick and not too thin. Placed in oven, waited till piece reached 392 degs. per the can and let set for 10 minutes and removed piece. Had lots of carters and minimual OP. this is starting to drive me rat s**t.

PS I do use a IR temp gun

Lose the LiquiguardPC and dont use acetone to wipe down powder it can turn it soft use alcohol. LiquiguardPC will cause crators too..............
