Stripping 30mm shell - Plating Powder Coating Buffing Anodizing

I PC a lot of 30mm shells out of the A-10. The shells are aluminum and have a green coating on them. I have tried strippers and they don't get it off. I want it to be down to a shiney finish but the only way I can figure out to do it is sand it off. Is there a chemical or something that will take the green off and get it down to the bare aluminum? Are these things anodized?

I don't know what the coating is. If it is anodizing you can coat over it without issue though.

I have done a lot with coating over it but there is one problem. when it gets hot the stuff bubbles a little bit causeing little bumps all over the place. Some of the powders I use doesn't show them but others do. Also I like to get it off and have the aluminum somewhat shiney so that when I laser engrave on it the back ground is shiney.

if it bubbles under heat it definitely isn't anodizing. just mess around with different strippers until you find one that works well.
