Default Re: Which air compressor filter/dryer?

I set mine up with a 5 micron and then a .01 micron filter and then a refrigerated air drier (Ingerso Rand). I bought all of the items off of Ebay and saved myself a ton of money off of retail. No I am not a represenative of ebay but I have bought and sold there many times. You'd be welcome to check my same handle that I use here as it is the same one I use on ebay. Anyway, getting rid of the moisture in the compressed air is huge. My bead blaster runs so dry that it gives me shocks some times. I don't worry about moisture in painting operations or in air tool use. Skip the make shift set ups and shop for the real McCoy. You won't be sorry.

P.S. check my post on compressors to someone else who asked.

Rich

I'm not sure of the microns, but I know we use a small Sharpe system for a large repair shop. I also use it for airbrushing, hobby autobody work, and soon (hopefully) some powdercoating. We probably bought it from our local NAPA, or from a small locally owned store that has been here since before I was born...never seemed to have a problem with it.
And to add, my father has great faith in Ingersoll Rand products.

Wink Re: Which air compressor filter/dryer?

Well finally purchased a La-Man Extractor/dryer off Ebay for $21.01 + shipping. Unit retails for $181.00 and it's new. will filter down to 5 microns, so I hope thats small enough for PC. Hope to hook it up Tuesday and try some coating to see if that eliminated the craters. Time will tell.

ben

PS thanks for all the help.

You still need some sort of particulate and oil coalesing filter behind that dryer.
