Thumbs down Color Chart is inaccurate

For my custom motorcycle frame I purchased blue grass green powder coating from caswell and what I got was john deere green. This is not a simple shade off but a totally different color. I have spoken with the company and was dumped to the way side with the offer of a new can of paint. This is all they were willing to do for me after spending 450.00 for the work and another 550.00 to redo it. I have tried to speak with someone higher up in the company but they apparently only hide behind other to avoid responsibility. None of them will even return my calls. And I have been very polite with the sales reps. I have seen no color disclaimer and their emplyees could not find on on the website either.

Default Re: Color Chart is inaccurate

I feel your pain but as with any color chart viewed online, variations in computer systems and displays are numerous. The color generated by various color-chart providers is generally a Pan-Tone code based on inks. There is no one-one conversion for Pan-Tone and paint colors. If you click on the link provided under the color name, an actual photograph of the color is usually provided. While even photographs can vary due to lighting they help provide a closer representation of the color. In the case of Bluegrass Green, the link is here: Bluegrass Green - Caswell Inc Photo Gallery

This is why it's important to investigate and/or test a color to be sure it matches your requirements. It's the same whether you are buying paint or buying powder. By the way, John Deere has two different colors of green too.

Thank you CarWiz for a common sense answer.

You didn't look very hard - see the attached screenshot - and since I am the only higher up here, I can confirm that I NEVER received any calls or e-mails from you regarding this.
