some plugs are made to handle cure temps, some don't but when you order them make sure of the heat they can handle , I've seen some on ebay that are good only to 300 deg
some people leave the plugs and fuly cure powder I remove them before they go in the oven because powder tends to overbuild around the plug and looks awfull. powder won't run in to the threads. other things I use is aluminum foil , and works perfect as for tapes I only use powder coating green tape good up to 450deg and remover after flowout, if not powder can fall from the tape in to areas you don't want . everything you are asking is learn with time and practice , that's what makes this fun |
