Default Looking for a Cheaper PC decoater??

Ive used Eastwoods powder coating remover in the past to strip powder coated parts (and man it works awsome)

But the problem is the stuff is $70 a gallon..

Is there something cheaper that will get it off as well?

Thanks

Brian

This is what the EW stripper is, go directly to the source. Solventkleene
Nonhazardous Products

There's also some here:

Ive contacted Solvent Kleen.. They will only sell it in 55 gallon drums at over $1100 a drum..

Is the stuff that POWDER BY THE POUND sells as good as the eastwood stuff?

a self cleaning oven will take it off if the parts can handle the heat.

I have used Dupli-Color paint stripper from Summit Racing and it works great. Took the powder coat right off. It is in spray cans and was cheap, Approx: $3.50 per can

Solventkleene sells 5 gal. buckets. The d-zolve 1012 actually dissolves the powder and the chemical needs to be strained occasionally, with the Cybersolve from PBTP the powder does not dissolve into the chemical. It comes off in junks and just dip them out.

If you're just stripping small parts, I've had some success with Permatex Gasket Remover (blue can) $3.09 @ Fleet Farm. Any auto parts store should have it.

What do they charge for a 5 Gallon bucket of the stuff?

Has anyone else used anything as good as the EASTWOOD Dissolver?

Has anyone tried brake cleaner? I got some on a scrap piece that had been powdercoated, and it started to take the finish off.

Brake cleaner will F/U your finish. As far as removing powder, I imagine it would eventually. One reason not to use it as a pretreatment parts cleaner.
