Thread: Air compressor

  1. Air compressor

I am new too powder coating and have been reading about the gun (have not bought one yet). They all talk about using (5-10 psi). Mine question is how much CFM/SCFM does it need? I already have an air compressor and was needing to know if it puts out enough air or am i going to need a bigger one.

As long as your air compressor is bigger than one of those 12 volt emergency tire inflators, you should be OK. If it has a tank, you're good to go. Very little air volume is required. Regulate the pressure to between 10 and 15 lbs. There is a small adjustment knob on the handle of the gun (right near the air inlet) for making fine adjustments while dusting. I've had my kit for a couple of months, and I really like it.
