Just a curious. I pretty much have my powder charges down. But I want to ask others here what you charge for sandblasting? I charge flat rate $50/hr for blasting, prep, coating, but Oven time is a different rate. Not sure of I should include media cost in my sandblasting charges? Up till now, I have been cabinet blasting, but not am stepping into larger pieces and cant reclaim near the sand I can in a blaster. Also curious on if you charge customers Paint stripper costs too? latest job I have used 1 gal of aircraft stripper, and 2 bags sand so far, only half done sandblasting. Was powder so I soften first with the stripper.

Thats good. I allways feel I am over charging LOL. because I know whats involved, and its not "hard" for me. I used to do the same thing when quoting electrical jobs. Its easy for me, allways forget the customer doesnt have the tools, training or time LOL

That sounds good to me... But ive been out quoted by shops that only charge $26 an hour for blasting..
Blasting is a TON of work in my opinion.. Brian

Got a quote from a local blaster to do a car frame only, $250.00. I charge by the part instead of by the hour. Seems to be more appealing to the customer. I do have a guy that does all my bigger parts and isn't priced to bad. I only have a regular sized cabinet. Soon to have a 250 gal drum for a blasting cabinet, I hope.

I use three blasters (four if you count the little hand/spot blaster) to do parts. If it doesn't fit in the cabinet, I go the next size up. It always seems to take about the same amount of time to do any part--Small or large. For bigger parts, ya gotta bring out the bigger tools.
