Default Hey Carwiz

How did you do with IKE in your backyard? Hope you did Okay. My sister and a couple of her kids are down in the Austin area. Need to find out about them as well.

We've been getting dumped on from the remains of IKE. Town just West of me got the most rainfall ever recorded for them in one day.

We left the Nats North early (yesterday). We were constantly getting drowned up there. Guess they had a tornado touch down shortly after we left the area. What a mess.

Thanks for the concern JT but we didn't get so much as a breeze or sprinkle from Ike. We broke a record high of 102 yesterday and Friday was near the same. I'm about 25 miles SW of San Antonio and they barely got any wind out of it. It did have me worried when it was headed toward Corpus Christi. When they come ashore around there, we usually get it hard. I was all gassed up and had the generator ready last week. Spent three days stowing things and getting ready. Then it took the turn to the North.

Our friends in East Texas and Western Louisiana really got it. My prayers go out to all those folks and hope for a speedy recovery.

Thanks again, Ken

Good to hear you did okay. So many down that way weren't so lucky. We on the other hand had some flooding around the area. I did not. We will be waiting for the rivers to crest to see who else gets it from all this rain. We had somewhere in the area of 6 inches of rain and just about 25 miles from me got 10.75 inches. (the most ever recorded for them).

The wife and I bit the bullet and went back to Kalamazoo Sunday. Rained to whole time up, while there and on the way back. But, it was still good. The ground was so saturated, the water was standing and running everywhere. Lots of folks had left already and the place looked kind of bare. They had something like 2378 registered, as opposed to 3000 to 3400 as usual, this time around. Anyway, it's always good to see old friends from other states and Canada.

Well, back to the scheduled programing. Haven't had much time to work out the bug in my oven yet. Hope to work on it this week. Got a set of 1980 Datsun 280 Z wheels to finish in the next couple of days. So, got to get back to it.
