At one of the shops I coated for we used to pre bake aluminum post caps for hours. The caps always wanted to gas off during the baking process. This eliminated the need for powder additives. I do not recall what the additive was called , but if i believe it was an added flow agent of sorts. This would let the gasses escape and eliminate the pin holes.
