    Default Aluminum Prep

Hey all, just checking to see what some of you are doing for pre-treatment, etching, etc. on aluminum before powder coating. Would love to hear everyone's processes or input.

    Later, D.J.

    Default Re: Aluminum Prep

At one of the shops I coated for we used to pre bake aluminum post caps for hours. The caps always wanted to gas off during the baking process. This eliminated the need for powder additives. I do not recall what the additive was called , but if i believe it was an added flow agent of sorts. This would let the gasses escape and eliminate the pin holes.
