    Default motorcycle gas tank powder coating?

    My question is simple,
    May i powder coaticon my motorcycle gas tank or am i risking an explosion as the gas vapors still in the tank?

    While the auto ignition temperature is between 475 and 495*F, gasoline produces explosive vapors at any temperature above about -45*F. Clicking relays or sparks from a fan could set off vapor. I wouldn't take the chance unless you can thoughly wash/flush the tank and fill with CO2 or Nitogen. (Unpressurized or 0psi)

    The way that I have used for several years, is to get you a gasoline engine running (car or garden tractor) and run the exhaust into the tank for around 30 minutes. This will get rid of the gas fumes and make it safe to even weld it if you want. But make sure it gone by smelling it first. It's worked for me for years.
