    Default Building a spray booth

Okay, after doing a search and reading thru 4 pages of booth building, I'm more confused now than before.

I'm building a booth 4 x 4 x 8 to spray ceramics. Going to duplicate the booth for powder coating. My dilema is the exhaust fan chioce. As you can see the opening is 4 x 8 = 32 x 100 = 320 cfm fan needed? Correct?

The filtered opening will be 16" x 40" with the fan ducting connected to the top. I figuered I'd use two 16" x 20" premium furnace filters. I am building this in a corner using two existing walls. So the ducting is actually the space between the wall studs. It's 14" wide by about 30 to 40 inches long up to the top of the stud wall. We installed a piece of board 14" x 20" and angled it to half the depth of the studs (creating more flow?) behind the lower filter.

So if I'm on the right track will this fan work? I figure it would being used for horticultrue, and able to draw thru filters without killing the CFM.

    Mark,
I have build something similar and worried a little about all the cfm math and decided to try it my way. And it works fine. I just build a big box to allow more volume and to connect to my free air handler that I swapped from a 220v to a 120v motor. I used 6 14x25" filters. It pulls the pc paint fine. I don't do ceramics yet so can't comment on the density etc of the particles for that.
    HTH,
